WELCOME!

My #1 PRIORITY IS TRANSPARENCY AND COMMUNICATION!

I created this blog for you, the residents of Century Village, to make your voices known! The goal of the blog is to make your compliments and concerns known to all. Give us your comments on topics that you would like discussed at Synergy Club meetings, issues you would like addressed by WPRF and/or UCO. Do you get the help you need? Are your questions answered? You are more than welcome to spread the blog link to all of your friends and family throughout the village to give them an opportunity to speak as well! The only rules are – no profanity, be respectful, no inappropriate language. That’s it! Note – topics will not immediately appear after submission until cleared for the rules above. We want everyone to have a pleasant blog experience.

!! Upcoming Webinar – Bulk Telecommunication Agreements, What You Need to Know !!

It never ceases to amaze me at how things seem to come together when you least expect it! Just as we are having major issues with our Breezeline Cable TV bulk service agreement and Breezeline is trying to renegotiate the contract to avoid defaulting on their end of the agreement, I received this article about an upcoming webinar on zoom regarding how to negotiate bulk telecommunication agreements in community associations! What are the odds of that happening! Anyway, I’ll take what I can get…

Strangely enough and coincidentally, one of the three speakers who will be presenting, Leslie Alvarez, has already made a presentation at our Synergy Club, and the other, attorney Michael Kassower, Esq., will be making a presentation this week at the Synergy Club!

This zoom meeting is extremely important, as it will explain what we need to know regarding what is currently ongoing over UCO with regard to the major contract issues and Breezeline’s attempt to escape their obligations with the current contract. They want to offer the residents of Century Village a new streaming service instead of providing us with the current hardware that doesn’t work and they won’t replace.

Now, as you know, I’m all for new and better technologies that will improve our lives and make things easier and more efficient for us. After all, I am a techie and worked in the healthcare tech sector for the last 26 years. Unfortunately for us, however, what they’re offering will require all of us to purchase Internet Service, which will double the prices that we’re already paying just for the Internet alone, not to mention the increases in the regular service that will no doubt be added! Under normal circumstances I would say, “Let’s see what you have to offer, and we’ll think about it.” However, these are not normal circumstances, in that Breezeline is already under contract and must provide us with TV service for the next three years anyway. They are finding it harder and harder to fulfill their obligations because there are no more functional TV boxes to replace the ones that are already broken I personally have received 4 broken DVR’s in just the last month! So, in effect, they are asking us to pay for them to upgrade their infrastructure and hardware on our dime!

With all of this in mind, I highly encourage anyone who is currently receiving Breezeline Cable TV service in your Century Village condo to register for this all-important webinar which will take place on September 24, 2024 from 12 noon until 1 PM.

Remember, just as in a court the jury hears the case and makes the final decision, we the delegates of Century Village are also the “JURY” in deciding whether or not to approve any new telecommunication bulk telecommunication agreement. We, the delegates, have the power to say NO! if the agreement does not meet our needs, is too expensive, or if the process is not transparent and all of the conditions of the agreement are not communicated to us all so we can make an informed decision prior to the vote!

Here is the information on the upcoming Zoom Webinar:

Successful Negotiation of Bulk Telecommunication Agreements in Community Associations

There is no doubting that bulk telecommunications agreements present a unique opportunity for community associations to leverage their collective bargaining power to improve services and save money, all at the same time.

The process is complex and the stakes are high, but with the right professional support, you can achieve incredible things, such as better tv/video services and faster internet speeds.

To learn more, please join Attorneys Michael Kassower and Michael Kammer alongside Leslie Alvarez of Community ACE in presenting this incredible webinar for the benefit of community associations throughout the State of Florida.

  1. Remember that Comcast charged a fee for service calls unless you could prove that their hardware was defective.
Breezeline does not charge. I’ve lost count too on # of service calls and boxes replaced along with similar comments from each technician including list signal issues transmitting from Miami. Lee, thanks for clarifying the current problems with Breezeline.

    1. Hi Ken, and thanks for your reply. It will be added to the Synergy Club Showcase shortly. It’s a very informative and educational webinar which every Century Village resident needs to watch prior to voting for the next increase in the Breezeline Bulk TV Agreement line item of the budget next month. I will be making a motion to table the Breezeline line item for sixty days in order to give Breezeline an opportunity to address the issue of non-conformance of the current contract and see what they plan to do to rectify it. They are currently working on a proposal to replace the current agreement. We need to see what they plan to propose before we give them any more money, as they will need to terminate the current contract if they want Century Village residents to accept and approve a new contract. This means that any increases in their fees will be null and void. I believe we are justified in not paying them right now, as they have not been able to fulfill their current agreement of providing high quality cable TV service to all of our residents without substantial delays due to hardware issues. I hope all of the delegates at the delegates assembly will join me in approving the motion to table that line item of the budget when the budget comes up for a vote on October 4.
